I'm pretty sure Petsmart are not going to sale rats that have a deadly disease, that would be like selling a dog or cat with sarcoptic mange or rabies.

Oh... well they're still ugly and gross

Well that's your opinion, rats are used to test medical and cosmetic things for humans so the least I can do is give two or three a good home...
